Below are the step-by-step instructions to make Snowball Walnut Cookies. Let’s get you started!

Snowball Cookies Perspective

Ingredients Snowball Walnut Cookies

  • All-purpose flour, ½ cup
  • Cake flour, ½ cup
  • Salt, ⅛  teaspoon
  • 2 Tablespoons of white sugar and ¼  cup of powdered sugar
  • 1.5 cups of walnuts, chopped finely
  • ½  cup 1 stick softened butter
  • 1 teaspoon of top-notch vanilla extract

Directions Snowball Walnut Cookies

Start your preparations:

  • While making the dough, for approximately 10 minutes, cut one-half cup of butter into pieces and let them soften.
  • Set a baking sheet with parchment paper in place and preheat your oven to 350°F.
  • In a food processor or blender, add whole, shelled walnuts and pulse until finely crushed, about one minute.
  • Set apart.

Dough Preparation:

  • Mix cup cake flour, all-purpose flour, salt, a cup of powdered sugar, and white sugar in a big bowl.
  • Add ground walnuts, one and a half cups of cubed, softened butter, and one teaspoon of vanilla essence to the flour mixture.
  • Using a hand mixer, thoroughly incorporate all the ingredients. It is best if the dough is crumbly and gritty.

To Bake and Coat

  • Form the dough into little balls that are between ¾ and 1 inch wide using a cookie scoop.
  • Place at least an inch apart on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown, at 350°F.
  • 3 minutes should pass for the cookies to cool enough to touch but still be warm.
  • A small bowl should contain ½ cup of powdered sugar. After rolling the heated cookies in powdered sugar, lay them on a cooling rack and wait 10 minutes for them to cool fully.
  • Finally, to create snowball cookies that are white and powdery, coat the cookies once more in powdered sugar.
