Peanut Caramel Slice. Are you looking to take your snack game to the next level? Do you want to wow your guests with one of the best snacks? You won’t get it wrong with the Peanut Caramel Slice! The recipe you are about to learn is guaranteed to leave your guests crowning you the “best host of the year.” First,  the ingredients needed to form the base.

Ingredients for The Base Peanut Caramel Slice

  • One egg
  • One-quarter cup of self-raising flour
  • One cup of plain flour
  • 125g of softened butter
  • Two tablespoons of custard powder
  • Half cup of sugar

Ingredients for the Topping Peanut Caramel Slice

  • Ninety grams of butter
  • Half cup of brown sugar
  • Hundred and fifty grams of toasted nut
  • Two tablespoons of golden syrup

Now that you know what you need, let us look at the steps.

Step 1

Start by greasing a 20cm square tin. Then, preheat your oven to 170 degrees celsius. Remember to line the greased tin with baking powder. The baking powder will make it easy to remove your peanut caramel when it’s done.

Step 2

Next, mix in the sugar and butter. The egg should be beaten in and folded in flour. Then, mix in the custard and self-raising flour. Stir the mixture until it’s a sticky dough.

Step 3

Using the back of your spoon, spread the mixture evenly into the base of your tin. Then, you can bake it for twenty minutes until it is cooked. You will know it is cooked when the color is light brown.

Step 4

Now that you’re done with the base, it is time for the topping. Take your sugar, butter, and golden syrup and place them all in a pot. Heat them until they dissolve. Then, remove them from the heat and stir in the peanuts.

Step 5

The next step is to pour the topping on the top of the base. Ensure that you spread it evenly across the top. Then, bake for an extra ten minutes.

Step 6

Cut the peanut caramel into even squares only when it is allowed to cool in the tin.
