Baked Apple Roses! What could be more delicious than Apple Roses made with puff pastry? This recipe is so easy to make and will be the focal point on your dinner table.

Ingredients Baked Apple Roses

  • 1 very thinly sliced, large red apple
  • 1/4 cup of white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
  • 1 frozen sheet of puff pastry, thawed
  • ¼  cup melted butter
  • 1 huge egg
  • 2 teaspoons of water 
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar, confectioners (Optional)

  • Set the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200°C) and set an oven rack so that it is in the center. 
  • After, butter and sprinkle the two ramekins(6 to 8 ounces) with white sugar
  • In a dish that can be used in the microwave, arrange the apple slices, overlapping them if required. 
  • Slices should soften somewhat after 45 seconds on high in the microwave so put a kitchen towel and plastic wrap over the plate to protect it.
  • In a small bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon.
  • Now, Cut two (3 x 12-inch) rectangles with a pizza cutter (remember puff pastry sheet should be thinned to less than 1/8 inch.) Save the remaining parts for future use.
  • Sprinkle a good amount of cinnamon sugar over the dough after spreading melted butter over it. 
  • Then, apple slices should be placed a quarter inch beyond the dough’s long edge, slightly overlapping the pieces. 
  • To create a long “folder” of dough with the rounded edges of the apple slices exposed, fold the bottom half of the dough over the apple slices.
  • In a small bowl, combine the egg and water. Then apply a coat of egg white to the dough’s surface. 
  • Add cinnamon sugar to the surface.
  • Next, roll the dough to create a rose-shaped pastry, beginning at one end and roll the end of the dough strip to seal. 
  • Place the flowers in the ready-made ramekins. sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
  • For about 45 minutes, bake on the middle rack of a preheated oven until thoroughly browned. 
  • Then, with tongs, transfer the ramekins to a baking sheet to cool for five to ten minutes. 
  • Then, take the apple roses out of the ramekins and let them cool completely on a wire rack. 
  • Before serving, sprinkle it with confectioners’ sugar.
