Christmas Candy corn is almost synonymous with crisp autumn days, glowing jack o’ lanterns, and Thanksgiving dessert spreads. Candy corn is known for its distinct white, yellow, and orange stripes, but that has been changing in recent years. In fact, like many other candies that were once dedicated to certain seasons, candy corn has branched out into other holidays. Shoppers can now purchase cinnamon Valentine’s Day candy corns and pastel colored spring pieces. Our favorite type of candy corn, of course, is our Christmas Candy Corn

Where did Christmas candy corn come from?

Candy corn has been around for much longer than you may think. It is a relatively young candy that was invented in the 1880s by a man named George Renninger.

When it was first released, candy corn was extremely difficult to make and was created nearly entirely by hand. That is why candy corn is so closely linked to the autumn season: production only happened between August and late November.

Originally, candy corn was created using three distinct different flavors: marshmallow, cooked sugar, and fondant. In modern days, it is created with a single flavor mixture known as mellowcreme.

Just like the candy corns of the 1900s, candy corns today taste like a blend of marshmallow, vanilla, and buttery caramel. This includes our delicious reindeer corn which boasts the sweet flavor of traditional candy corn complimented by festive holiday colors.

Is candy corn gluten-free?

Technically, candy corn is gluten-free by design. Wheat is not a part of its very short ingredient list. Our reindeer corn does not contain any wheat products, but that doesn’t mean that it is 100% gluten free.

Like many other manufacturers, there is a risk of cross-contamination. When eating our delicious reindeer corn or sharing it with others, please make sure to read the allergen warnings thoroughly!

Is candy corn only for autumn?

Even though we think of candy corn only being available in the autumn months, it is actually available year round! During the fall months, thousands of pounds of candy corn is sold in stores in the United States. But did you know that confectioners sell a significant amount of other types of candy corn throughout the year?

In the United States, you can find variations such as cupid corn, freedom corn, bunny corn, and birthday corn at different times of the year. There are some stores that also sell unique candy corn flavors like smores, green apple, and carrot cake.

While all of the unique flavors are fun, we don’t think there’s anything better than the traditional buttery sweetness! That’s why our reindeer corn is such a perfect match for holiday events and parties.

What are some ways to use reindeer corn?

  • Heat up the thick ends of the corn on a hot plate and stick them together to make cute, edible ornaments.
  • Bake them into festive thumbprint cookies.
  • Build a candy Christmas tree.
  • Pack them into brightly colored gift bags as tasty party favors.
  • Spread them over the table at a holiday themed party.
  • Have them for a delicious snack!

Christmas Candy Corn isn’t just for the holidays! Whether you are just a fan of the rich taste of candy corn or want to prepare for the holidays, you can order reindeer corn any time of year. Whatever you do, make sure you buy a lot! It will surely be a crowd favorite.
